Foreign Languages Team

The Foreign Languages Team team teaches German, Russian, and Spanish at GYMES, because we know that nowadays it is not enough to know only English. That is why other foreign languages also have a place here – Foreign Languages Team. Students choose them when they enroll in school.

From Year 1 to Year 3, students attend 3 foreign language lessons per week; in Year 4, 2 lessons per week plus 2 lessons of school-leaving seminar classes. In Year 5, there are up to 4 seminar lessons per week.

The school-leaving examination at GYMES is, of course, also possible in foreign languages at level B1 or B2 according to the students’ choice.

The Foreign Languages Team places emphasis on developing all language skills in teaching and applies knowledge gained from courses abroad. With enthusiasm, the team supports interest in studying foreign languages by involving students in language competitions, in which we achieve many awards. Students are encouraged to maintain contact with foreign languages outside lessons according to their interests; the most popular are certainly international projects within Erasmus+, thanks to which GYMES students can travel abroad, get to know other cultures, form many friendships and, of course, improve their language skills.
