Career guidance at our school is provided by Mgr. Mária Stašková

 The career adviser at our school supports pupils in actively planning their future, whether this involves choosing a university, defining their professional direction, or entering the labour market. Her work includes both group activities and individual guidance, which complement one another and form a comprehensive support system.

 Group Activities and Initiatives

These activities focus on developing career skills, orientation in the world of work, and supporting pupils’ independent decision making. They mainly include:

  • Workshops, lectures and activities during form periods focused on:
    • self exploration, getting to know their strengths, values and goals,
    • career exploration, discovering opportunities for further study and career paths,
    • career planning, setting goals and identifying steps to achieve them.
  • Lectures for final year pupils.
  • Participation in university fairs and career events.
  • Inviting school alumni to share their experiences of study, work and life decisions with current pupils.
  • Cooperation with organisations and companies, including visits from the Office of Labour, Social Affairs and Family Košice, workshops in companies, and visits to universities.
  • Sharing information about opportunities to study abroad, scholarships and international programmes.
  • Implementing career activities throughout the school year as part of developing the school’s strategy in the field of career guidance.

Individual Guidance

The career adviser also provides personal consultations to help pupils better understand their own options and decisions:

  • Individual interviews focused on pupils’ interests, abilities and goals.
  • Analysis of academic results and extracurricular activities to create a personal and professional profile.
  • Assistance with choosing optional subjects, a university or another educational pathway.
  • Guidance with completing applications and addressing any possible appeals.
  • Consultations for parents and legal guardians regarding their children’s future studies.
  • Consultations with representatives of universities, providing information about study programmes, admission requirements and graduate employment opportunities.
  • Assistance with completing electronic applications, offering individual support for pupils who have questions or technical difficulties during the university application process.
